Description

Ominous Ocean is a deep-sea survival game that takes place in an abandoned research lab. Stay alive, find upgrades, and journey to the depths to fight the final boss!

Intergalactic rush hour was SUCH a hassle, the constant honking and laser skirmishes were taking their toll. Aria, being the upbeat mercenary she was, needed a much deserved vacation. Lo and behold, a deal to Quasar IV! The ocean planet, with every hotel under a thousand leagues it was sure to delight. Dawning her swim wear Aria armed herself with the usual quick wits and her trusty travel visa. Oh and she couldn’t forget her ARGUS 2000 a.k.a good old Argie. Argie was her faithful robot toaster with up to 3 settings of bagels! Last time at the lunar spire Aria forgot about her old pal and she vowed never again to leave him behind. As she arrived at her destination Aria immediately set forth to do what was right and just, try the local cuisine. The local restaurant seemed sorta divey but hey, girls gotta eat.

Really nice game! I included it in part 4 of my Bacon Game Jam 09 compilation video series, if you would like to take a look :) https://youtu.be/d94r7aO8Ygg

Very nice, displays an insane amount of polish for a jam game!

Thanks for playing! The control scheme was suppose to make crouching, aiming, and attacking easier, but it's pretty unconventional.

The game is pretty hard, but there is an ending and it's definitely obtainable. Keep playing, I'm sure it's worth it :)

Very impressive for a 48h jam! I played a couple of rounds and was very impressed by the tech and animations. Great job! My one feedback was that it was very difficult to get used to the controls, so I died a lot. I did not expect RB to be mapped to jump (I'm using a standard Xbox 360 controller).

Great job, at first I thought it was broken, but I had my controller plugged in and tried to use the keyboard. Overall the game feels really good, the fact that you can't speed-run through the game is nice, forces you to think about your moves, it is however pretty hard.

I played this on the keyboard and the controls didn't take too long to adjust to. I thought the game overall was a great concept and the impressiveness of the robot can't be understated. One note I found when playing is that one of larger enemies got confused about my location and stood in the corner.

Would have been nice if I could figure out how to play in fullscreen. Playing on a high res monitor had me squinting.

If it was not for Mholley messing up the overall rating (he clearly meant something higher) This game would have won.
